What writing projects are you currently working on?

I am working on creating a writer resource newsletter. It’s called Keep Writing Newsletter. The focus is on Black women writers and mental health. There will be a focus on how to improve your writing with featured writer/author spotlights.

I always have a few ideas floating around in my head. I am focusing on smaller writing projects and world building for another project that I’ve named the Andromedan Project. I do dabble with my first novel when I feel up to it.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

I enjoy going back to do a reread and then thinking of new ways to develop the story. It’s a fun way to get into the details of what the story may need to go to the next level.

What does your writing workspace look like?

I try to keep my desk as clear as possible, but that’s not always the case. The edges of my desk are covered in random important things I need to return to (but often forget about). I have a wide standing desk, so I have more room to work. I am taking advantage of my second monitor that takes up the left side on my desk. On the other side, I have a black mounted lamp, but in front of it I have my dark green iPad stand so I can have something on in the background.

What is your favorite non-writing hobby?

A while ago, I decided to take up running. For me, it helps clear my head and allows me to keep pushing forward even when I am feeling tired.

What is your favorite piece of writing advice?

It’s OK to not have all the pieces of your story in the beginning. It’s important to start writing. It will take time to get the story where you want it, but eventually you will get there.
