Host a Virtual Book Party

Reach new readers in Detroit and nationwide! Our 1-hour virtual book parties include a meet-and-greet with guests, book reading, discussion and Q&A. We can coordinate signed book giveaways too! 

Your event and book will be marketed on several platforms, including:

  • The DWR’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn page

  • Our e-newsletter that reaches thousands of people nationwide

  • A highlight of the event will be shared on the DWR’s YouTube channel 

  • You’ll be featured on our Writer Wednesday spotlight

  • You book will be featured on our Bookshop.org page

How it works

01. Recording

Your book talk will be recorded and shared with all guests after the event. You will also receive the recording for your personal use!

 02. Book Sales

Option 1: Authors can provide a link for guests to order books online. 

Option 2: Bundle the book with the ticket and send signed copies after the event. Authors are responsible for mailing copies and will receive 100% of proceeds from sales.

03. Tickets

Tickets are free for the first 15 guests to encourage people to register! Tickets are $10 per person after that.

04. Cost

Our virtual book talk package is $160 for DWR members and $200 for non-members. 

 

Add-ons:

For an additional $50 you can have DWR social media coach Chelsie Dzbanski cover the event on Instagram stories and tag you so you have instant social posts ready to share!

For an additional $700 we’ll write a press release about the event and distribute it to our local and national media contacts who cover books, arts & entertainment and more.
