“Detroit Voices” recognizes talented writers of all ages who grew up or reside in Metro Detroit. The collection features 35 writers and photographers who were selected finalists of the 2025 Detroit Writing Room Awards. Categories include: poetry, flash fiction, non-fiction, memoir, essay, children's book manuscript, screenwriting, blogs and photography. The award ceremony and this publication benefit The Detroit Writing Room's 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm Coaching Detroit Forward, which offers free writing and photography programs for Detroit high school students.
