Then this retreat is for you!
We’ll hear from local authors, meander among artwork, murals and nature, and taste some of the best flavors the Motor City has to offer, all as inspiration for our writing!
This generative retreat, open to writers of all genres and experience levels, includes time to write, focused instruction and excursions throughout the city. Writing sessions will be held at the Wayne State University Press on Saturday and Sunday morning.
The retreat includes a welcome happy hour, three breakfasts, two lunches and Saturday dinner with readings. Participants will receive writing materials, including a purple journal and pen, as well as a backpack and reusable water bottle.
The retreat begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 and concludes at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. Accommodations and transportation to Detroit are on your own. Attendees are eligible to stay at The Godfrey Hotel in Corktown for a discount.

ABOUT LYNNE GOLODNER:
A former journalist and marketing expert, Lynne Golodner is the award-winning Detroit-based author of 12 books. With a degree from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Poetry from Goddard College, Lynne has taught writing and led retreats for more than 20 years.
