College Essay Writing Coaching

Are you a high school senior applying to college and stressed about your college essay?

Detroit Writing Room coaches are available to help!

From your introduction to conclusion, we’ll help you navigate every part of your essay. We’ll make sure you answer the prompt in a way that showcases you and your growth as an individual. We’ll also guide you on creative ways to structure your essay. If length is a challenge, your coach will help you stick to the word count while ensuring your paragraphs flow. You want your essay to leave a lasting, positive impression on an admissions officer. Consider our College Essay Coaching Package below!

College Essay Coaching Packages Include:

  • 3 hour-long sessions that can be scheduled at separate days and times.

  • Written and verbal feedback on essay drafts.

  • A Writing Room coach to encourage and motivate you to write and submit your essay!

Location Options:

  • Students can meet with a coach virtually. 

  • Students who reside in Metro Detroit may meet Coach Stephanie Steinberg in-person upon request.

Session Times & Guidelines:

  • Coaches will schedule sessions based on the student’s availability and preference. Weekends are options!

  • We encourage students to email their draft to their coach at least 48 hours before their session. This ensures the coach has time to review the draft in advance. Don’t have a draft yet? We’ll help you review essay prompts and brainstorm potential topics during the first session. 

Coach Options:

College essay coaching is currently offered by Detroit Writing Room founder Stephanie Steinberg. Students may work with other Writing Room coaches in Detroit or New York upon request!
