Stories from Our 2021 Journalism Camp

Teens Share Their Perspective

High school students from the city of Detroit, Metro Detroit and across the country each wrote a story during our virtual and in-person camps led by Detroit Writing Room and New York Writing Room coaches. The students explored how schools and students are coping with the pandemic and how local businesses and nonprofits are bouncing back. Others covered topics that touched close to home such as death, Islamophobia and Asian hate crimes.

Each student wrote a story they thought was important to tell. We’re excited to share their articles with you below.
